RE: TT suitable for full timing?

I believe a TT is suitable for full timing, but, like everything else, one must be prepared to deal with the environment where the TT will be parked. Spent last winter in our 27' TT up in Northern Nevada where the night time temps were constantly in the single digits and teens. Day time temps would reach upper 30's by late afternoon and our TT worked out fine. As mentioned in another post, just be prepared with heat tape, propane supply (we used 120 gallon tank), good power supply and most importantly ... a good sense of humor to make the experience more enjoyable.

RE: More Campers on the Highways

Although the RV Parks have been full around here (near Reno) a lot of those in the parks are fulltimers who ditched the high payments of the S&B. The campgrounds here have been staying active and near capacity, but most are locals not driving far.

RE: winter camping

Last January and February DW and I lived in our 27' TT while our new home was being finished. The temps overnight dropped below 10* and we survived, but the winters here in Northern Nevada can make it rough on you. We left water dripping all night long to keep the fresh water lines from freezing up. Used a 30' heat tape for the fresh water line. Used a 100 gallon propane tank to keep the heat going. Left the gray water valve open constantly to promote draining w/o freezing up. Black water tank heater was left on and dumped every other day. It was an experience and found we could actually live in our TT if need be.
